I came across this recently from a post by my Caribbean neighbour over at Cayman Host
The Blog Readability Test is a ‘fun’ tool to test the readability of your blog/website/facebook or myspace profile.
Am I making this blog too hard to read?
I teach at the college level so maybe I’m unconsciously writing at this level?
I would hate to lose readers by making my posts hard to read. What do you think? Should I try to simplify my writing a bit?
Comments welcomed!

Hi Janet,
Thanks for the mention - I think you can wear your rating with pride. After all, I’m a college drop out but even with my limited brain power, you’re always a good read
Thanks Maurice
Yes - your blog is hard to read. I did not go for any test , I just looked at the side bars and relative font size and colors , it is hard to read in my veiw.
BTW do visit my blog.
Hey WordPress Guru,
Thanks for the input. I’ll take another look at the style sheet.
They type of the posts is too small; looks FONT SIZE 1. Other than that, OK.
At least it’s not white text on a black background!
Hi TigerTom
Are you using firefox by any chance? I find that the post size comes out much bigger in IE than in FF. This seems to happen on other web sites too - so I’ve got used to ctrl-+ on a lot of sites. It’s actually set at 1.2em at the moment. I guess I could try putting in an IE hack to set the font sizes differently for IE and FF
Yes, it’s FireFox. Don’t fret too much about it. IE can be a pain to design for.
I dont think it is hard to read, I mean in the end your writing is standard and I think there are no worries.. I went through like seven of your posts and I had no trouble reading them..
So keep up the good work! You’ve got a new reader!
