It’s been almost a month since my last report so here’s my progress so far.
I now have 11 stores. It’s been fun developing the stores but hard work to make them different from all the other stores out there! My traffic has been somewhat erratic, mainly I think due to Google! For one of my stores I tend to check how it’s doing in Google by using one of the less competitive keywords. Some days that keyword is #1 then it drops out of sight! That’s happened more than once so I don’t think it can be the sandbox effect. My traffic drops through the floor of course when this happens. At the moment it’s back up there at the top so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it stays there now.
The best sites for clicks and sales are, of course, the older sites and in the last 30 days I’ve made $US140 from 6 sites. Not a fortune but I’m pleased with my progress. I’ve more than covered my costs and made a little profit. I’m also putting into place some things to try to increase my traffic.
- Written my first article for Ezine Articles - just submitted so no progress yet
- Paid someone to manually add my sites to PR5 directories - You can find people willing to do this at low cost at Digital point Forum
- Made a few blogs at Blogger - this has resulted in quite a lot of visitors
- Advertised with USfreeads - not very successful. My ads get a lot of visitors but very few click throughs to my site. Tried different formats for adverts. Still not much and I have to pay monthly so I’m considering canceling
- Advertised with UKClassified - Fairly successful, had a reasonable number of visitors (and it’s free)
- Made some hubs - This also has given me quite a lot of visitors
I’m also having a problem with Google on one of my sites. All my other sites were indexed in under 24 hours if I linked to them here then wrote a post. Google spiders this site regularly and comes around within minutes of me posting something. For one site it’s been 2 weeks and still nothing. I’ve uploaded my sitemap, which has been downloaded by Google many times and still the site isn’t indexed. Anyone have any idea why? As far as I can see I’ve done nothing different for this site.
So I’m glad to report that BANS does work. It takes quite a lot of work but once set up the sites will be self sustaining apart from adding some new content now and then.

BANS is down at the moment. As long as you’re not spending valuable time and money promoting an eBay URL, it sounds good.
Yeah BANS seems to be having some problems! Not sure what you meant by “As long as you’re not spending valuable time and money promoting an eBay URL, it sounds good.”
Link your hubs pages with the site that didn’t get indexed, and submit a page to Digg.com and to other bookmarking sites.
How are your Bans sites doing lately?
Hi Tim,
Sorry I haven’t replied sooner but I’m in the middle of setting and grading exams! My BANS sites are doing well. I’ve made about £300 so far plus $130 from clickbank as commission form selling BANS. I’m not too happy with clickbank though as I can’t get the money until I’ve made 5 sales, 1 using a visa and 1 using a mastercard. That’s just a way of them keeping my money IMO.
Thanks for the tips on using BANS. I have been using a similar script with some success and I have a BANS site also. I will be trying some of the things mentioned. Thanks
BANS is an excellent script when you want to create quick and easy websites that convet. I have had a lot of success with them.
I have experiences setting up BANS site in the past and sometimes i will just have to question myself whether it is worth the effort for the amount of revenue that it is bringing. Not many can succeed in bringing lots of revenues, especially nowadays.
