It’s a month since I set up my keyword sniping experiment so here’s a report on the progress so far.
Total visitors 659
Google 347 MSN 96 Live 33 Referring sites 122 Direct Traffic 27
Keyword A position in Google After 1 week 125 After 1 month 97
Keyword B position in Google After 1 week 106 After 1 month 68
keyword B is a seasonally affected keyword that has few visitors in the summer. The trend starts to increase in August so I expect that to have an influence on the no of visitors. Probably not the best keyword to use for my experiment!
So my number of visitors is a little disappointing but probably expected as I am not optimising for long-tailed keywords with few visitors but trying to eventually get more visitors by targeting harder keywords. My positions are coming down and I still have directories and article sites yet to approve my submissions. I’ll leave it for a while then try to submit some more articles.

Keep gonig. Don’t give up…I think you are on the right track. For me was the same at the begining …but you have to be a little patience and keep publishing and soon you will see the results. Good luck!
Yes of course. I didn’t expect this to be an overnight success. It’s good to see the keywords slowly gaining ground in SERPS and in the meantime getting some hits from other keywords that aren’t so competitive.

You are working hard as i can see. Work on the less competitive ones before moving towards the harder set of keywords.
It is quite good to be able to reach out to 657 visitors in a period of 30 days. Nothing is magic, work on it and you will get better results.
good stuff! ive had a specific question come at me a few times people seem to be really interested once you have found your niche, how do you go about actually attacking that keyword? or what if i want a few keywords? so i did a post on that, i read your blog alot, answer is keyword sniping of course.

Don’t forget that SEO work is someting that has to be done constantly to improve the quality of the website. That helps too to increase traffic.
My SEO guru always talks about good content in order to get good renkings in the serps.
I’m currently working in the content of my website to see how it goes with rankings.
I have to agree on Motorcycle Fairings on this. SEO work really helps improve the quality of website and increase traffic as well.
