I’ve been using Market Samurai for a while and a couple of people have asked me how it’s working out. As I use linux I’m using MS on a virtual machine and it’s a little slow and every now and then doesn’t give me any results. Not sure if this is because of the way I’m using it or Google messing about! so it has been a bit frustrating using it. If any one is using it on Windows perhaps you could let us know if these are usual problems or a result of using it on the VM. The only way to get the free trial I can see is to register with the Thirty day Challenge (it’s free) then follow the download links once logged in.
Overall it is useful although everything it does can be done with free tools. The advantage of MS is that it brings the information all together in one place. One of the most useful parts to me is the analysis of the top sites for your keyword with no of backlinks to domain, backlinks to page, domain age etc all colour coded for easier interpretation.

As the thirty day challenge has progressed MS has been updated to include more features. The latest update is a Google adwords feature. Put in a keyword and press analysis and MS will come up with a list of related keywords. Analyse these and it gives you the expected Adwords traffic, %click through rate and cost per click.
The related videos for the Thirty Day Challenge are very clear. I’ve avoided using ppc until now as I know how easy it is to use up a lot of money for no rewards but I intend to try it for one of my BANS after watching the 30DC training video. If it is a tool that can bring all the required SEO information in one good piece of info, then it will be very useful for analysis of your competitors. So far i am also using similar tools but they require subscriptions. Okay i will try it again.

I’m having problems with it. It’s fine doing the competition analysis but 9 times out of 10 when I try to do keyword analysis it just sits there saying ‘Fetching Google Keyword Research Data’. Anyone else having the same problem? It’s great when it works but this is getting annoying. I certainly won’t buy it if this continues.

Janet, currently it appears that Google is exercising its authority on automated rank checking or automated search queries activities by external parties. These processes are reported to be consuming Google’s computing resources and they are blocking these applications. You can read more about this over here : Google Blocking Automated Rank Checking
Market Samurai recently had a major update (it updates automatically when you open the program) and the problems seem to be resolved. I’ve been using it for a few hours now and it’s been working perfectly. I was getting very frustrated with it but tonight I’ve done a whole load of research with it and I’m beginning to see how useful it is.
Currently it seems that Google is exercising its authority on automated rank checking or automated search queries activities by external parties.But it’s not 1005 accuracy.Now a days the other company try to overtake Google.Anyway the current calculation might be batter for Google that’s i think………Good post to share..
Google has its authority in the internet market. If they do decide to block all incoming automated queries, there is nothing one can do much about that. - Rif Chia
