BANS and Adsense - Google doesn’t like it!

A member of the BANS forum has had his adsense account disabled and received this in an email form Google

"Specifically your sites do not violate any particular set of guidelines as outlined in the Google’s webmaster quality guidelines.
However after reviewing a number of your network sites the feel of the sites is that substantial content is built around and to support an automated script promoting a web affiliate.
Google Adsense is also deployed around this script.
If you are willing to remove the scripts or remove the AdSense code from these sites your account can be reinstated in 30 days."

So, although they admit that the site does not violate any of the guidelines they are disabling his adsense account for using adsense with BANS sites.

I do not use adsense with my affiliate sites as I want visitors to click on my affiliate links rather than the much lower paying adsense ads but if you have adsense on affiliate sites (BANS, WordBay, Phpbay etc) look out for Google to disable your account!

WordPress plugin of the Week - OZH’ Drop Down Menu

I haven’t done a WordPress plugin of the week for a while as I haven’t come across any new, really great plugins recently but here’s one I really love and has now become the very first plugin I install on a new site!

Ozh’ Admin Drop Down Menu

This plugin replaces the top menu with a drop down menu . Simple as that but it saves loads of clicks. Now everything is only one click away! Very simple very useful!

since I upgraded WordPress my related posts plugin is not working correctly - apologies - click here for previous WordPress of the week posts

How To Buy Aged Domain Names

I mentioned in a recent post that i am now using aged domains for my new niche websites so I’d like to give you more information on why I am doing that and how to find suitable aged domains to buy.

Advantages of Aged Domains

  • Google already knows about the domain
  • Yahoo already knows about the domain
  • Search engines give some advantages to aged domains
  • You may avoid the Google sandbox

My experiences

I started using aged domains a few months ago and so far it has proved a good move. New sites using aged domains have been indexed faster and started to receive visitors much faster too. Yahoo has been sending me visitors for most of the sites almost instantly as opposed to months for a newly registered domain. There are one or 2 exceptions where Yahoo is completely ignoring the sites. I have no idea why? So far I’ve avoided the Google sandbox but I can’t say definitely if this is coincidence or aged domains really do help you avoid it. For the $5 or $10 dollars n aged domain can be purchased for it really is worth it. Continue reading ‘How To Buy Aged Domain Names’
