With keyword sniping you have a short term goal of finding a keyword phrase to build a blog around and then make it highly competitive for search traffic. You are not looking at the daunting task of creating years and years of content before you see a return for your efforts. you can use keyword sniping to get ranked for almost any keyword, some keywords will be easier than others and I would recommend starting with something that won’t be incredibly difficult.

The niche to develop such an interesting website is hard to be found. Your keyword sniping idea is a good way to develop some traffic, although I still prefer the classic method.

I like to run Google Adwords (paid campaigns) for a few weeks and then choose the keywords that worked best there. The competition rates usually translate into organic results well too.

My suggestion would be to reduce the key phrases in your Meta Tags-description and keywords. The more keywords in these tags-the less the importance given to the main keywords by SEs. A page should be optimized for at the most 3-5 keywords/phrases and these should be also be included in the Page content, Title, keywords, description, Alt, title in href, header and footer.
