It is vitally important if you want to rank well on Google that you know how to get backlinks to your site, posts and pages. Not just any backlinks but relevant backlinks. A backlink from a completely unrelated page won’t do you much good but a backlink from a highly relevant page, even if that page has a low page rank (PR), will help you rise in the SERPS. There are, of course, lots of ways to get backlinks but I’d like to describe two ways I use.
Article Marketing
To get relevant backlinks write an article and include a link to your site with your keywords as the anchor text in the resource box. I’ve been using article marketing with great success. I was using isnare but they have become so slow that I recently signed up with Article Marketer and am pleased with the service. All my articles have been distributed in, at the most, 2 working days and they also check the article for any errors in formatting for things that editors may not like.
ConnectContent
ConnectContent is run by RT Cunningham who has a blog at Untwisted Vortex. This is a great service! It costs just $12 a month. The idea is to form a network of people who can exchange relevant links in posts and pages. You can only get as many links as you give (weighted for PR). It works best if you have a wide range of different types of sites as you can’t be guranteed that there will be someone with a site relevant to yours and you may not get links for all your sites. If you just have one or two sites it won’t work very well and you should probably wait until you have more sites but if you want to know how to get back links check it out!.

Good tips. There are various article directories out there and it is better if you submit your articles to top directories. Make sure to add a link to your site
I have had decent traffic from my articles on Ezine. In fact I have seen a few of my articles re-published (complete with my links) on other websites and blogs!
One of the most inexpensive ways to get backlinks is to write articles and submit them to various article directories. My favorite directory is http://www.ezinearticles.com
Another way is to use a service whose purpose is to get your site linked to others, such as http://www.betterthanbacklink.com
You can also encourage people to syndicate your site’s content thru RSS feeds.
There are some good suggestions here. I just signed up for Article Marketer, I’ll see if it can work!

These are really great tips. I think article marketing is the best way for getting back link but as i thing forum posting is also a good way for it.

Article directories are a good way to get back links and traffic to your sites. Most article directories provide you with a resource box at the end where you can add few links back to your site or blog and what most people do is write a quality article and add a resource box mentioning there blog
Backlinks are links on other websites that point to your blog. Try putting your blog in your signatures for popular forums or publishing cool articles that people will want to link to.
You could try posting some controversial posts (link bait) to naturally work up some backlinks.
Link exchange is also a good way of building backlinks.
Have been hearing about contentconnect and other similar ‘private’ networks. Since they are closed, I feel they will work for a while but they only make sense IF you have tonnes of websites to provide backlinks from.
The best part is it will keep a lot of rubbish link exchange requests etc. away. How do they ensure that linking doesn’t become reciprocal?
Hi Jeet You’re right about not wanting reciprocal links and it’s really up to each member to make sure they don’t link to the same post. It does need plenty of websites to link to and I hope it keeps growing as it is a good way to get one way relevant backlinks which can be a real pain to get. There is a good range of different niches represented so if you have a lot of sites you can probably find plenty of sites to link to.

Well i just do make a good comment for the blog i’m visiting, of course it will give me a good backlink either for me or the blog that i’m commenting.
One effective, albeit annoying way to get views is to search for the search term the article or site is written around, and then leave a comment containing a link to it on whatever website shows up first on the search engine. More and more web sites are getting strict about policing comment backlinks, though, so this method does not always work..

There’re many and many way to build link. My work:
- Submit directories with high PR
- Use forum to build link
- Comment to other dofollow blog
- Submit to articles
- Submit to dofollow social
- Link exchange with other blog
- Post interesting news and other blog will backlink to you
I am doing simple few tricks to get the backlinks.
One is blog commenting (that what I am doing write now) other one is forum posting but most important is article submission.

Basically that is pretty good idea to get backlinks and I always like such services(connectcontent) because there is nothing easy than that to get good quality backlinks.
Yes, backlinks are important.
However, an organic spread must be achieved.
So, almost any system that forces the numbers to grow will appear “artificially created” rather than “accepted” by the marketplace in a natural manner.
I agree that article marketer is a solid service. I’ll be sure to check out the connect connect service as well. Lets not forget that there are many free classified ads websites that you can receive do follow links from. Also blog commenting, forum posting in do follow high pr sites is probably the most effective and affordable way of SEO.
