BANS and Adsense - Google doesn’t like it!

A member of the BANS forum has had his adsense account disabled and received this in an email form Google

"Specifically your sites do not violate any particular set of guidelines as outlined in the Google’s webmaster quality guidelines.
However after reviewing a number of your network sites the feel of the sites is that substantial content is built around and to support an automated script promoting a web affiliate.
Google Adsense is also deployed around this script.
If you are willing to remove the scripts or remove the AdSense code from these sites your account can be reinstated in 30 days."

So, although they admit that the site does not violate any of the guidelines they are disabling his adsense account for using adsense with BANS sites.

I do not use adsense with my affiliate sites as I want visitors to click on my affiliate links rather than the much lower paying adsense ads but if you have adsense on affiliate sites (BANS, WordBay, Phpbay etc) look out for Google to disable your account!

WordBay Now With Geotargetting

The latest version of WordBay now has automatic geotargetting. It works by checking the IP of the visitor and delivers auctions from the appropriate countries eBay RSS feed. For those countries that do not have an eBay the default RSS feed will be used. I’ve updated the plugin on a couple of my sites and activated the geotargetting. Checked it out using proxies in Canada & the UK it seems to be working perfectly. You can find proxies to check out different countries at freeproxysite

This should be a big advantage as I frequently get visitors to my sites from countries other than the US, often from Canada or Australia so I am hoping that geotargetting will increase my conversion rate. I’ll report back later.
